Deploying your call flow

Whether you have made a new call flow or edited an existing call flow you will need to deploy so it is live for your callers.

Updated over a year ago

How do I make my call flow Live?

If you have made changes to a current call flow, or created a new call flow you will need to deploy it before you callers will hear those changes

Saving the changes in a block does not make those changes live in your call flow until you have deployed it

This guide will take you through deploying your call flow and how you can return to a previously deployed call flow

Step by step guide

Deploying your call flow

  1. Create or Load your call flow

You will see the Deploy button at the top right hand side of your workspace. For a live call flow this button will be grey

  2. Make any required changes to your call flow, saving each edited block as you go

When you have made any changes to your call flow the undeployed version warning will display, and the Deploy button will now be green

  3. Test your call flow!

You can test how your call flow works and sounds, and check any changes you have made by using the test number

See our guides on Testing my call flow

  4. When you are happy with your call flow click on the green Deploy button

You will see the Deploy Call Flow pop up

Here you can type a description which can help you identify this call flow and any changes you have made

This is useful if you need to go back to an earlier version of your call flow, for example if you have added in a prompt, which will only be used for a specific time period i.e. a Flu Clinic message

If you are not ready to deploy the call flow at this point, use the Close button, to return and make further changes

  5. Deploy your call flow. Click on the blue Deploy button

You will be notified when the call flow has been successfully deployed

  6. The Deploy button at the top right hand side of your workspace will now be grey and the undeployed version warning will have gone

Load Previous

X-flow allows you to keep previous saved versions of every call flow. This means you can return to a previous deployed version quickly. For example if you have made a temporary change, like adding a time limited information prompt i.e. notice of upcoming Flu Clinics or a Holiday Closure notification

If you save each deployed version with a description of the change made you can re-select any of these deployed versions when required

  1. Load your call flow

If the call flow you are viewing is live you will see the Deploy button at the top right hand side of your workspace. For a live call flow this button will be grey

  2. Once you call flow is loaded you will see all of your workspace functions in the top left hand side

    Click on Load Previous

  4. Select your previously deployed call flow and click on Load

  5. To make this call flow live click on the Deploy button, which will be grey, if you haven't made any other changes to the call flow

Or, if you have made changes to your call flow the version warning will display and the Deploy button will be green

  6. You will see the Deploy Call Flow pop up. You will be prompted to add a description to your call flow
