Surgery Intellect offers a streamlined workflow that saves clinician's time by automatically associating patients with launched consultations - eliminating the need for manual association, enhancing efficiency
When the Phonebar is connect to your clinical system and a Patient is selected, Surgery Intellect pulls through their information ready for you to complete your consultation

Launching Surgery Intellect for a Telephone Appointment
From the Phonebar
To begin a Telephone Consultation with Surgery Intellect active, click the Intellect brain icon from the Phonebar
Once selected, the Intellect window will open. If a Patient is open in the clinical system, their details will be displayed at the top of the window
If there is no patient open when this window is opened, simply navigate to your clinical system and open, then click the Refresh button in the Intellect window to pull their details through
You can then select the contact number you wish to call from the drop down
To begin the call, click the call icon
The consultation will then begin. Once the call has completed, Surgery Intellect will automatically generate a transcription
Next, you can choose to add any supporting comments or context in the Add Context box - for example, observations you have made that were not discussed in the audio transcription. Once you are happy with this, click Finish and generate notes
From the Appointments Window
Navigate to the Appointments Window Session Tab
From here, select your Session. Once this has been done, you can click the patient name in the list to open the Patient Record in the clinical system. Click to Call can then be used to dial the patient
To launch Surgery Intellect, select the Intellect icon (brain). Once selected, this is highlighted and cannot be clicked again
Once the Intellect button is selected, the consultation is opened in the Intellect Window and the you are notified that the call is being recorded
Once the call ends the consultation content is generated and can be approved, amended and saved to Surgery Connect
If the Intellect button is not clicked whilst the call is ongoing, simply navigate to Patient Contact History. From here, you can launch Surgery Intellect and complete the consultation
Please note: When using Surgery Intellect, the individual Users will need to have call recording functionalities turned on in order for this feature to work
Launching Surgery Intellect for an in-person consultation
From the Phonebar
To activate Surgery Intellect for a face-to-face consultation, click the Intellect brain icon on the Phonebar
Once selected, the Intellect window will open. If a Patient is open in the clinical system, their details will be displayed at the top of the window
If there is no patient open when this window is opened, simply navigate to your clinical system and open, then click the Refresh button in the Intellect window to pull their details through
Once you are ready to begin the consultation, click the brain icon
Intellect will then begin to record the appointment, and you will be notified that the consultation is in progress
Next, you can choose to add any supporting comments or context in the Add Context box - for example, observations you have made that were not discussed in the consultation. Once you are happy with this, click Finish and generate notes
From the Appointments Window
Alternatively, you can navigate to the Intellect Tab in the Appointments Window
Or click the Intellect icon from the Active Patient Window
Surgery Intellect will then begin to capture the conversation audio
To pause or end the transcription, simply click Stop Listening. The box will then turn green - to resume, click again
Once the consultation has ended, click Generate Transcription
Next, you can choose to add any supporting comments or context in the Add Context box - for example, observations you have made that were not discussed in the audio transcription. Once you are happy with this, click Finish and generate notes
Completing a Consultation
Once a consultation has been completed, the transcript is generated in the Intellect window. The full transcription can be viewed by clicking the Transcription button, and any required comments not mentioned during the call can be added by added Context in the box below it
Once complete, click Finish and generate notes
You can change the style and structure of the Clinical Note by using predefined templates. Once you have made changes, click Regenerate to create a new note
You can also Copy and Edit the content using the buttons located underneath the Clinical Note
Based on the content of the consultation, Surgery Intellect will identify medical codes that may be relevant. Each one displays the code and any observable values, as well as showing the consultation content that prompted the code to be generated
If any of these codes are not required, they can be toggled On or Off against the consultation as desired

You can the generate a letter, if necessary, based off the consultation content. There are three letter templates available:
Patient Letter
Colleague Letter
GP - Specialist Referral
Once the letter is generated, you can view the content and copy
Once you're happy with the configurations of the previous steps, click the Approve & Save to Surgery Connect button to finalise the consultation. This saves the consultation to the Patient's Contact History
Accessing Surgery Intellect from Patient Contact History
Any Ambient Intellect recordings or calls passed through Surgery Intellect will be displayed with the Intellect (Brain) icon in the contact list. Click the desired item, and the Intellect content will display in the right hand side
Use the Medical Note, Letter and Codes tabs to view items from the consultation
Intellect can also be added once a consultation has been completed via this tab. Simply navigate to the necessary Call Information, and click Add Intellect to generate the outputs
Settings
Currently Surgery Intellect is filed to Surgery Connect only, while we currently work through the governance required in order to facilitate the ability to save directly to the Patient Care Record
The Settings for Surgery Intellect Saving within the Phonebar Settings window reflects this, and the ability to save is set to off as standard
