You can send an SMS directly through the User Console via the user shortcuts.

How do I send an SMS?

You can send SMS messages directly from the User Console. These can be free type messages, or you can use surgery template messages.

To create SMS templates, please see our guide on SMS Templates through the Configuration Console.

Step by step guide

Sending an SMS from the message icon

Click on the send message icon in the top right hand corner

In the top box type in the mobile number you want to send the message to or you can select a contact from the Central Directory

Underneath is an SMS Template box. If you have templates and wish to use one you can select it from the drop down menu here

Note: It is advisable to send and SMS Templates from the Clinical System, as the patients details do not auto fill through the User Console

The details will appear in the preview box and can be edited from here

Or, you can type an ad-hoc message in the SMS preview box

Note: Supervisors can view an SMS message log through the Reports Portal

Sending a SMS from the call list

Click on the number in the call list that you would like to send a message to and open the drop down box

This will open up the SMS pop up and populate it with the telephone number

Underneath is an SMS Template box. If you have templates and wish to use one you can select it from the drop down menu here
