How do I send an SMS?
You can send SMS messages directly from the User Console
These can be free type messages, or you can use surgery template messages
To create SMS templates, please see our guide on SMS Templates in the Configuration Console
Step by step guide
Sending an SMS from the message icon
- Click on the send message icon in the top right hand corner of the User Console 
- This will open the SMS window 
- In the Phone Number type in (or copy and paste) the mobile number you want to send the message to - or you can select a contact from the Central Directory 
- Underneath is an SMS Template box. If you have templates and wish to use one you can select it from the drop down menu here - Note: It is better to send and SMS Templates from the Clinical System, as the patients details do not auto fill through the User Console 
- The details will appear in the preview box and can be edited from here - Or, you can type an ad-hoc message in the SMS preview box 
- Send the SMS message - Note: Supervisors can view an SMS message log through the Reports Portal - See our SMS Reports guides 
Sending a SMS from the call list
- Click on the number in the call list that you would like to send a message to and open the drop down box 
- This will open the SMS window and populate it with the telephone number 
- Underneath is an SMS Template box. If you have templates and wish to use one you can select it from the drop down menu here - Note: It is better to send and SMS Templates from the Clinical System, as the patients details do not auto fill through the User Console 
- The details will appear in the preview box and can be edited from here - Or, you can type an ad-hoc message in the SMS preview box
