V6 Phonebar Video Calls
Updated over a week ago

This guide explains the updated video call process for users of the V6 Phonebar and above.

You can video call directly from the Phonebar dialler, the Active Patient window, and video call from the Appointments window. This guide will explain how to conduct a video call once launched.

For the process for previous versions of the Phonebar, see this guide.

Launching a video call - User Perspective

Step 1:

Once a video call has been launched it will immediately open up a video call window. The meeting invite SMS will be sent automatically to the patient.

To view ways to launch a video call from the Phonebar, see this guide

Step 2:

Before entering a video call you can manage your video call settings by clicking on the Settings (cog) icon. Here you can manage your audio and video settings and apply visual effects.

Step 3:

Click Join Meeting to start the video call. Once in the meeting, you can copy the invite link if you need to invite additional participants to the video call.

Step 4:

The in-call window will then appear.

The usual video call controls will be in place:

  • Switch on/off your camera

  • Mute your microphone

  • Record the session (to your local PC NOT the clinical system)

  • Send a message on screen (chat)

  • Leave the meeting.

Step 5:

Once the patient clicks on the link and requests to be let into the meeting, the GP will see the patient knocking and let them in for the call to take place. Alternatively, you can send a message to the patient if you are not ready to start the call.

Step 6:

When you are ready to end the call, click the Leave button. This will end the call for all participants.

Video Call - Patient Perspective.

Step 3:

The patient will need to click Knock to be asked to be let into the video call.

Step 4:

The in-call window will then appear. The patient will see the same in-call controls.

Step 5:

Once the meeting has ended they will see the below screen to show that the call has finished.
