What is the Phonebar?

Updated over 2 months ago

The Phonebar is a small but powerful desktop app that gives access to Surgery Connect features for your staff, either in conjunction with clinical integration or as an independent communication tool

The Phonebar allows access for all telephony functionality to be controlled from the PC screen. For receptionists, it brings up patient records in the User's clinical integration as the call arrives. For GPs and clinicians, it allows single-click calling from the patient records, including the option of video calls, SMS messages and requests for photos

For Users that do not use clinical integration the Phonebar works independently, allowing non-clinical staff to make and receive calls, video calls and SMS

How it works

The Phonebar is pinned to the bottom of your screen and appears in its minimised state by default. When expanded, general telephony is located on the left hand side of the Phonebar and patient communication is located on the right hand side

Using clinical integration you can also access patient appointment lists from the Phonebar to seamlessly switch between patient records, and to call, video call and SMS patients

You can make the expanded Phonebar longer or shorter by choosing which icons you wish to display on the Phonebar and which actions you want to select from the User Menu
