Adding Single Contacts - Directory

Surgery Connect has a Central Directory where you can add your external contacts, so everyone can access an up to date contact list

How do I add single Directory Contacts?

The Directory in your Phonebar and User Console will display all of the internal (User/Group) numbers and your External numbers

Adding a Contact via the Configuration Console

To add a contact, click the Directory tab within the Configuration Console

Select + New Contact

The New Contact window will then open. Here, you can add the following contact details, where relevant:

  • Display Name

  • Email

  • Phone

  • Home Phone

  • Mobile

  • Contact Notes

Enter all the necessary information to log it within the Directory. These are useful for logging information that could be helpful when Users dial these contacts, such as hours of operation

Once you are happy with the information you have entered, click Save

You will be returned to the main Directory screen and a green success banner will show

The new Contact will now have its own listing - this can be viewed, edited and deleted as required. This listing will be visible to every User when accessing the Central Directory

Adding a Contact via the Phonebar

Navigate to the Calls tab in the Communications Window within the Phonebar

When a call is listed from a number that hasn't been saved as a contact in the directory, the Add to Directory icon is displayed. From here, the number can be added to a new directory entry

When the icon is clicked, the Add to Central Directory modal is opened

The number will be prepopulated into the Phone or Mobile field, depending on the number type. You can then add the following fields:

  • Display Name - the name of the contact displayed in the Directory

  • Email - if desired, the email address for contacts can also be added for easier record keeping

  • Any additional Notes for the contact - such as hours of operation or contact preferences

Adding a Contact via the User Console

Open the User Console to view the Call list. From here, click on the number within the call list that you wish to add to the Directory to open the drop down

Once clicked, the Add to Central Directory modal opens. Here, you can add the following contact details, where relevant:

  • Display Name

  • Email

  • Phone

  • Home Phone

  • Mobile

  • Contact Notes

Once you have added your contact information, click Save
