Short Dial (internal) Numbers

Short Dial Numbers are your internal numbers for Users and Groups.

What are my Short Dial Numbers and how do I use them?

Through the Service Delivery Console you can manage all of your numbers. A short dial is the internal number used to contact the User when they are logged into Surgery Connect. Short Dial numbers can also be added to a Groups.

This guide will show you how to search for and identify your internal numbers, how to add them to Users and Groups and how to print an internal directory.

Accessing Numbers

  1. Log in to Surgery Connect - sso.x-onweb.com - with your NHS email address and Surgery Connect password

  2. Select the Service Delivery Console

  3. Click on the Numbers tab

  4. When you access the list of Numbers you will see this table

Identifying Numbers

There are several ways you can identify your numbers. Each number will be listed in the table you can sort the numbers, filter by number type or search for the number by name

  1. Sort Numbers - ascending or descending

    This can be useful if you are trying to find the highest short dial number used, so you can add the next number to a new user

  2. Filter by number Type - for your short dial number only, select the Live Short Dial filter button

    Once you have filtered by number type you can again sort the numbers ascending or descending

  3. Search by name, this can be the name of a user, group name or inbound number name

  4. Once you have found the correct number you can edit it through Options


Adding a number to a User

To add a short dial (internal) number to a User you need to navigate to the User area on the SDC

  1. Identify your next available short dial number. You can identify the highest assigned short dial through the numbers list (as above) or through the User list table

  2. Click on the Short Dial column in the User table to sort ascending or descending

  3. Sorting descending you will see the highest number assigned so far and above that the users who do not yet have a short dial assigned to them

    In this example the next available short dial number you can assign to a user is 988

  4. Click on the edit icon for the User you want to assign a number to

  5. The Edit User window will open

  6. Enter the number chosen into the Short Dial box

  7. Save the User

  8. You will be notified when the changes are saved successfully

  9. You will now see the Short Dial number assigned to your User


Adding a number to a Group

To add a short dial (internal) number to a Group you need to navigate to the Groups area on the SDC

  1. Identify your next available short dial number. You can identify the highest assigned short dial through the Groups list table

  2. Click on the Short Dial column in the Groups table to sort ascending or descending

  3. Sorting descending you will see the highest number assigned so far and above that the groups who do not yet have a short dial assigned to them

    In this example the next available short dial number you can assign to a user is 331

  4. Click on the edit icon for the Group you want to assign a number to

  5. Once you have select edit you will have access to the group to edit the name, short dial and group members

    Enter the next Group short dial number

  6. When you are happy with your changes click on the green tick in the options column to save those changes

  7. You will be notified when the changes are saved successfully

  8. You will now see the Short Dial number assigned to your Group
