User Shortcuts - Introduction

User Shortcuts give you quick access to the dial pad, SMS, Surgery Connect menu and User settings.

What are User Shortcuts?

At the top right hand side of your User Console are the user shortcuts. These give you quick access to the dial pad, SMS, Surgery Connect menu and User settings.

Dial Pad

Your dial pad is usually located at the bottom right hand corner of the User Console, in its minimised form

The shortcut will open the dial pad to its full size. You can also expand the dial pad using the arrow on the minimised form

You can dial a number using your mouse or keyboard if you are using your laptop or pc

If you are using your mobile as a call device, you need to call out through Surgery Connect and the screen dial pad

Or you can use click to call with the user console

SMS

The double speech bubble icon will open your SMS writer.

SMS templates can be set up for the surgery, and can be sent to patients quickly from the SMS shortcut

You can copy and paste the patient number from the screen, or select a number from the directory

Select a standard message template or type your own message, and add useful links

Menu

Quick access to your Surgery Connect consoles, including the Support Portal and your settings.

Navigate to your available consoles from the menu.


User Profile

Click on your initials to access your User profile

Here you can select the device you would like to receive and make calls on, (for example from Desk phone to Softphone), including a mobile device, if this has been added to your User Profile

You can only be logged in to one device at a time

You can change your User Status, and select outbound calls or Do Not Disturb and log out at the end of the day

And you can manage the groups you are receiving calls for

Remember: Logging in with your smartcard within the surgery will automatically select the desk phone connected to your PC, and make you available for calls

Supervisors can access any User Profile through the User List and change these settings when needed for their staff
